SMACNA is proud to announce that IPG Photonics has officially signed on as a Silver Associate Member. They are the inventor and world’s leading producer of high-power fiber lasers, which enable greater precision, higher speed processing, more flexible production methods, and enhanced productivity.

Bill Kallgren, IPG Photonics Systems Marketing Manager, recently sat down with SMACNA to talk about how they can assist SMACNA Members. He stated, “IPG can help members stay current on capabilities, such as the utilization of machine vision technology, and enable small footprint laser cutting systems to extend existing punch capabilities. We can also help increase flexibility and open opportunities to take on new projects.”

Kallgren went on to say, “As the world’s largest manufacturer of fiber laser technology, IPG Photonics’ products and process technology can be found in numerous applications and industries across the globe. Continuous improvement and IPG innovation have made accessible the advantages of laser processing to the HVAC industry, and our flexibility coupled with the inherent reliability of fiber laser technology make deployment to the fabrication shop floor easier than ever.”

When asked if there was anything else about IPG Photonics that SMACNA member contractors should know, Kallgren replied, “IPG is ready to help members understand when, where, and how laser processing is practical and help members avoid pitfalls in implementing the technology on the shop floor.”
